First, addressing the Misconceptions: I’ve taken down that offending post, but its removal doesn’t diminish the importance of truth, especially when it pertains to causing emotional and psychological harm to others. As my mother taught me, I should always speak out against injustice, particularly concerning human rights and dignity. While my expression may have been undignified, it doesn’t alter the reality of the attacker’s behavior. If someone or a group claims to be humanistic, their actions should reflect this belief.

Now, onto animals and insects, which rely on their environment to survive and thrive. They play a significant role in our ecosystem, often in ways we overlook. For example, some species exclusively prey on mosquitoes, contributing to our comfort by reducing their population. There’s always been a symbiotic relationship, and evolution seems to follow this pattern.

Our biodiversity resembles a vast spider web, with every species interconnected, complementing and supporting each other in ways not always apparent to us. Currently, however, these interconnected strands are being damaged, disappearing, or going extinct. Even when an extinct species or vanishing insect doesn’t immediately register with us, it will undoubtedly affect us in ways that will pose challenges in the future.

Various species, including frogs, snakes, insects, bats, mammals, and marine life, are either disappearing or going extinct on a large scale. For instance, a single wildfire, which tragically claimed 33 human lives, also resulted in an estimated loss of 1 billion animal species.

There are parts of forests where the once-vibrant soundscape is now eerily silent. Some attribute this to prophecy, a term I’ve struggled to understand, especially from a scientific perspective. However, I believe in cause and effect. Our actions today will significantly impact the future, and it is predetermined by our actions. As we strive to become a more sustainably-minded society, it’s plausible that this shift will reflect positively on our natural environment.

One consequence of our changing climate is the increase in heat in some regions, along with the proliferation of disease-carrying insects like mosquitoes and ticks. It’s a straightforward cause-and-effect reality.

Years ago, I read in a climate book (whose title escapes me) that people would become more attuned to sustainability once beloved pets began suffering the effects of our climate emergency. This isn’t prophecy; it’s a warning. If we’re heading towards extinction, it’s likely that the creatures we cherish will precede us.

Beyond the interconnected web of life, the absence or extinction of species also disrupts the harmony of sounds in nature. We’ve all experienced the joy of waking up to birdsong, signaling the promise of a beautiful day. However, the reality of our shared climate emergency is far graver than many realize, decreasing this reality substantially. This is a sentiment echoed by numerous experts, not just climate scientists.

How do we address the use of fossil fuels that’s wreaking havoc on the planet? It starts with becoming conscientious consumers, voting for ethically and sustainably minded leaders, and transforming our lifestyles and modes of transportation.

We need a concerted effort towards more affordable electric vehicles, an expanded network of charging stations, increased education on sustainability in schools and colleges, and media coverage that prioritizes our transition to a net-zero world.

While mainstream media rightfully covers topics like politics and conflicts, we must also emphasize our path towards a fossil fuel-free future. The climate emergency we face has the potential to devastate us all, and it demands our immediate attention and action.

Animal Species and B.S.

First the B.S. Part: I removed that offending post, however it does not detract from the merit of truth especially when said reality is based on causing others emotional and psychological trauma, so yes as my mother taught me that I should always speak-up and out about injustice especially towards my human rights and dignity. Perhaps the way I expressed myself was indecorous, yet it does not change the reality of the attacker’s behavior. If a person or a group indicates they are humanistic then their actions should reflect this behavior as well.

Moving on animals and insects who rely on their environmental conditions to survive and expand are part of our web of life in much more ways than we realize, for instance one insect or animal species might eat nothing but mosquitoes and so forth.

In many ways many help us live more comfortably on this planet simply because of mannerism (eating mosquitoes and other invasive insects or animals). There has always been a symbiotic relationship and it appears it evolution takes place like this.

Our biodiversity can be likened like a very big spider web where everything is connected each complimenting and helping each other in many ways that aren’t even clear to us. What is happening now is the strands of this web are either damaged, disappearing or outright extinct. And the fact that an extinct species or disappearing insect does hit our radar it is in fact affecting us in ways that will cause us much struggles in the future.

All types of frogs, snakes, insects, bats, mammals, and ocean species are either disappearing or outright extinct and it is happening on a really large scale. As an example one wildfire that lost 33 lives (which is sad and painful in itself) lost an estimated 1 billion animal species.

There are parts of forests where the sound is absolutely silent when it used to sound like this – TICKSomeone mentioned that this is all prophecy and I must admit I never understood what folks mean when they use this word especially from a scientific perspective.

I believe in cause and effect and this means what we do now will have bearing and a strong effect (duh) on what the future will look like, not something that it is decided by one person or group to be destined to be this or that way. Even if this was the case and since coincidences (by chance or luck) does not exist does it not mean as we transform ourselves into a much more sustainably-minded race this will reflect in our natural environment?

One of the many points this reality spells out is that we will without a doubt see an increase due to both increased heat (in some places) and an expansion of disease carrying insects such as mosquitoes and ticks. It is simply a cause and effect veracity.

One of the climate books I read a long, long time ago (the name escapes me) indicated that a vast amount of people will start becoming more attune to this sustainable way of life once cats and dogs start succumbing to the effects of our Climate Emergency.

This is not a so called prophecy meaning if we are heading for the extinction chopping block does it not means those creatures we hold closer to our hearts will not precede us—as I believe this what the author way indicating.

Outside of the web of life these missing or extinct strands reflect a harmony of life through sound as well. We can relate to this. How many times do you recall waking up hearing birds chirping or other animal species sounds and thought wow today will be a wonderful day? The sun is shining the birds or chirping and the whole of nature seems alive with buzzing as well.

The reality of our shared Climate Emergency is that it is much, much worse than we realize—this many can say now with confidence without even being a climate scientist.

How do we change or how do we transform our use of fossil fuels that is destroying the planet—that is a question we can have answered by being a conscientious consumer, voting in ethical sustainable-minded candidate into office, transforming our way of living and working towards change our mode of transportation.

We need a push on more affordable electric vehicles, quicker expansion of charging stations for them, more educational subjects in schools and colleges on the topic, more televisions shows and news that focus on news of our transition towards a net zero world both the good and bad sides.

The mainstream and root-based news media focuses a bit on Trump, his cohorts, Israel and Gaza conflict (and rightly so) and other important topics, however we need to bring back much more coverage on the road we are supposed to be on towards a world without fossil fuels-based energy.

We need it to occupy both our minds as much as the presidential elections and conflicts that are happening because this one monster (our shared Climate Emergency) brought on by the fossil fuel industry has to power to destroy us all in a very upfront and dangerous way.
